At Indiana University Northwest, the Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education lets your passion for education shine as it prepares you for a meaningful career in education.

This program allows you to navigate both educational theory and teaching practice, preparing you to take Indiana state licensure exams and find employment in classrooms of K-6 learners upon graduation.

Education major highlights

• Student teaching opportunities: 91ÖÆƬ³§'s student teaching opportunities allow you to put your theoretical knowledge into practice as you work directly with young learners.
• Through the Teaching All Learners Elementary Education Initial Program (TAL), you will be ready for a career in self-contained and special education K-6 classrooms.
• Students who complete the elementary education bachelor's degree are eligible for Early and Middle Childhood Generalist (K-6) and Exceptional Needs-Mild Interventions.
• : Learn from various courses in education psychology, children's literature, introduction to exceptional children, and more.
