Counseling Services offers individual counseling sessions that help students effectively cope with stressors, grow from experiences, find ways to restore balance, build strength, manage life transitions, and ultimately increase personal and academic well-being. Many students face normal developmental concerns as well as personal and academic pressures during their college experience that can hinder academic growth and success and find it helpful to discuss these issues in a supportive, professional and confidential environment. Counseling Services provides both in-person and telehealth counseling sessions. Counseling sessions are at no cost to students who are actively enrolled IUN students and sessions are strictly confidential (within ethical and legal parameters). We are committed to supporting students in maintaining emotional mental health and personal well-being. Counseling Services has counselors that are licensed mental health providers in the state of Indiana and Illinois. Counseling Services is also an educational practicum training site for graduate students in training.
Counseling Services offers a variety of supports for students, including individual counseling, group counseling, case management services, educational workshops, crisis intervention, and referral to community resources.
Counseling Services also offers a variety of campus outreach events throughout the academic year, classroom presentations, and consultation to faculty and staff.
